Your First Drive: From Setup to Scoring

Take your first monitored trip and learn how the scoring process works.

Introduction

Your first drive with LETSTOP sets the foundation for how the app understands your movement, detects trips, and calculates your safety score. This guide walks you through the full experience so you know what to expect from the moment you start driving to the moment your score appears.

Before You Start Driving

A smooth first drive begins with a few basic checks. These ensure that LETSTOP can detect your trip correctly and provide accurate scoring.

  • Make sure Location Services are enabled on your phone
  • Confirm that permissions for Location and Activity Access are granted
  • Mount your phone for safe, hands free visibility
  • Keep LETSTOP installed and running in the background
  • Once these steps are complete, you are ready for your first monitored trip.

    How Your Drive Begins

When you start moving, LETSTOP uses signals from your device to recognize that you are driving. On most devices, the app will begin tracking automatically in the background without needing to tap anything.

If automatic detection is disabled on your device, you can start a trip manually by opening the app and following the on screen instructions.

    During the Drive

As the vehicle moves, LETSTOP measures distance, speed patterns, and phone interaction. The goal is to encourage safe driving and reduce distractions, without interrupting your trip.

  • Touches are recorded when you tap your screen
  • Your route is captured for accuracy
  • Only essential data is collected for scoring
  • The app avoids sending alerts or notifications during the drive, helping you stay focused on the road.

    When the Drive Ends

Once you park or stop moving, LETSTOP detects that your trip has ended. Depending on your phone settings, the app will finish the trip automatically or present an option to end it manually.

After the drive ends, the app processes your data to prepare your score and insights.

    How Your Score Is Calculated

Your safety score is based primarily on how often you interacted with your phone during the drive. Fewer touches lead to a higher score. If your trip was too short, the app may show a message indicating that no credits can be awarded.

  • Zero touches gives you a perfect score
  • Frequent touches lower your score
  • Very short drives may not count
  • Each score helps track your progress over time and contributes to your LETSTOP credits.

    Reviewing Your Trip

After your score is ready, you can view your full trip summary. This includes your touch points, route, distance, and insights that help improve your habits.

  • See where touches occurred
  • Check total distance, route shape, and trip duration
  • Compare your score to previous drives
  • Each summary is designed to help you understand your driving behavior and reduce distractions on future trips.

    Moving Forward

Your first drive is an introduction to how LETSTOP works. As you continue driving, you will see your score history evolve, earn credits, and unlock rewards. With each trip, the app helps you form safer habits behind the wheel.
